About Me

I am currently a full time faculty member at Valdosta State University in the James L. and Dorothy H. Dewar College of Education.  I teach pedagogy classes including, though not limited to, classroom management and differentiated instruction in the Middle Grades and Secondary Education department.  I supervise students, both in middle grades and secondary education in school (field) placement as both student teachers and apprentices.

Previously I was a full time social studies teacher and chair of the social studies department at Easton High School (EHS) in Easton Maryland.  I have ten years experience in grades 6-12 and have taught a myriad of subjects, including history (U.S. History, European, Ancient, and African American), Political Science (American Government, Economics and Geography) and basic sciences and mathematics.

I am a fan of technology and technical assisted pedagogy and have utilized web based instruction for many of my secondary school based curriculums.  I have authored multiple assessments including department (school based) and district and have years of experience in dealing with high stakes testing, accountability, curriculum and testing development and teacher preparation.

I live in Valdosta (GA) with my wife Wendi, my son Reilly and our two dogs, Lance and Sassy.  I have two older children; Christi who lives in Easton and Jamie who is a full time student at the University of Kentucky.
